There’s snow on the mountains and sunny days are on the horizon! It’s February in Redding, California and we're busy hitting the slopes, fishing at the lakes, and enjoying some feel-good live entertainment! Here's a list of six exciting events that will keep you and the gang moving and grooving all month long!
Calling all brides to be! The Redding Bridal Winter Showcase is happening on Sunday, February 18th at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Meet with local wedding venues, photographers, florists, rental companies and even watch a bridal fashion show! Dozens of unique vendors will be there showing off their fresh ideas for the new year as well as updated wedding day inspirations. Even though it’s called a bridal show, grooms are highly encouraged to come to the event as there are many decisions the groom can help the bride make such as invitation styles, floral arrangements, tuxedos, selecting DJs, and choosing honeymoon destinations. Fish on! Join the inaugural BAM Tournament Trail Pro-Am Event starting on February 23rd to February 25th. This is a must-see fishing competition where you can come and watch as professional anglers skillfully reel in the impressive bass of Lake Shasta. There’s also going to be a Big Bass Challenge where competitors will bring their biggest catches to the scales to see who will come up with the heaviest bass! A professional emcee and custom stage setup will add a lively and energetic touch to the occasion, guaranteeing that both attendees and viewing participants will have an amazing time. If you love to fish and enjoy watching the pros, this is your chance to see some ultimate fishing action!

February is the last month to participate in the final four Frosty Fun Runs. Now is your chance to get back in the groove and get that heart rate up alongside other fellow runners! Jog through scenic and beautiful locations around Redding as each race offers a long course version (4-5 miles) and a short course version (2-3 miles). Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each of the three age brackets (39 and under, 40-59, and 60+). With only four Frosty Fun runs left for the year, now is a great time to get outside and get your run on!

It’s Roller Derby season! Grab some friends and come watch the Shasta Roller Derby team take on the Auburn Outlaws this Feb 17th. If you’ve never been to a roller derby now is your chance to enjoy an exciting evening of fun and mayhem being held at the Big League Dreams arena. Bring the gang and come cheer on your favorite team. All ages are welcome to enjoy this family-friendly event! There will be games at halftime, local vendors, as well as food and drinks. New to Derby and curious about the rules? No problem! Personnel will be on site to assist with questions and provide game explanations. While comfortably seated here on Earth, you can explore the galaxy! The Schreder Planetarium's incredible domed theater will be showing two extraordinary films this February. "Exploring Space" will take viewers on a breathtaking journey through time and space as it reveals the universe through an amazing fusion of sounds, visuals, and interesting information. Then, on February 16th, you can watch “Back in Time” which transports viewers to the age of dinosaurs in a fast-paced, immersive experience. Enjoyable and instructive, these group friendly events are sure to educate, enlighten, and entertain you.

The Temptations

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour
Come and watch the top selected films from one of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in the world that focus on outdoor storytelling and global filmmaking. Held every fall in Banff, Alberta, over 400 film entries are submitted into the festival each year. The films range from traveling to remote vistas, analyzing topical environmental issues, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports. Elephant Man
Set in London in the nineteenth century, a young man with severe deformities ends up as the main freak show attraction in a traveling sideshow. Luckily, he is rescued and cared for by a compassionate physician. Over time he is gradually transformed into an elegant and humorous favorite in high society. Ultimately bound by his disfigurement he realizes he will never be embraced as a regular man.

Vitamin String Quartet
The Los Angeles-based American musical ensemble Vitamin String Quartet is well-known for its classical renditions of modern pop hits, including Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next”, Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood”, Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You”, and Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” Their music is also featured on the soundtrack of the hit Netflix show “Bridgerton”.
