It’s June in Redding, California and we’re bringing out the kayaks, paddleboards, and sunscreen! Start summer off with a splash as we have plenty of group events that will keep you and the crew, cool all month long!

Designed for those with little or no experience on a paddle board. This ranger-led tour will introduce you to paddle board basics and help you gain confidence as you discover a fun new way to explore Whiskeytown Lake. This program meets at Brandy Creek Beach Lot "B".

Hop on a tandem kayak with a friend and enjoy exploring the islands and quiet coves of Whiskeytown Lake on this ranger-led tour. Don’t know how to kayak? Don’t worry as they will teach you all the basics before you head out. Meet the ranger at Oak Bottom Marina at the kayak shed near the amphitheater.

The Redding Health Expo offers an in-person experience to come and meet over 200+ vendors that represent the very best in health, wellness, nutrition, fitness, and medicine. There will be prizes, raffles, and engaging activities for the whole group including hourly performances and wellness demonstrations on the Dignity Health Stage. There’s also an interactive Kids Zone with activities, games, and prizes. Nature is calling and on June 19th, you’ll have the option to choose between a free park entrance to the Lassen Volcanic National Park or Whiskeytown National Recreation Area! Both are conveniently located less than an hour from Redding and each park offers a unique selection of things to do. If you’re into challenging mountain hikes, bubbling sulfur pits, tall evergreens, and volcanoes then head east to Lassen Volcanic National Park. If sandy beaches, ranger led kayak tours, and short hikes to waterfalls and rugged bike trails is more your style, then head west to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have a great time exploring nature and with the free park entrance included, it’s just one more reason to go and have an outdoor adventure.

Join the paddle sport community for a massive public float down the Sacramento River through the City of Redding. This event is open to participants of all abilities, from beginners to diehard paddling enthusiasts. We are calling all paddle sport enthusiasts to come out in kayaks, canoes, standup paddleboards, rafts, and anything else you can move with an oar! Begin your trip at Riverfront Park listening to a sunrise concert. This journey ends at South Bonnyview’s Reginato River Access with lunch and Raba transportation back to Riverfront Park, both are included with your ticket purchase. Come and meet up with your fellow paddlers as they make it a June morning to remember!
