It’s July in Redding, California and we’re celebrating our Sundial Bridge turning 20 years old, kayaking in the moonlight, and enjoying one of the biggest fireworks show in the state! Get ready to light up your July with these awesome group events!

Dance the night away on a glass-decked dance floor, suspended over a rushing river! This free, once-in-a-lifetime event features musical performances by MOONLGHT, DJ Bucky Dun-Gun, and DJ Jynx, who will be offering an epic night of music against the backdrop of Redding’s most iconic structure. As we commemorate 20 years of the Sundial Bridge, don’t miss DJ on the Dial as it will be a night to remember!

What better way to start your 4th of July than with a morning run with the group! It’s the Signarama Firecracker 5K at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The fun starts at 8 AM with a Red, White and Blue opening ceremony featuring the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star-Spangled Banner, and includes:

Come celebrate America's independence at this all-day event with food vendors, games, live entertainment and the largest fireworks display in Northern California. Free admission. Seating for fireworks opens at 6 PM. Fireworks show will begin at 10 PM. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and plenty of liquids!

Designed for those with little or no experience on a paddle board. This ranger-led tour will introduce you to paddle board basics and help you gain confidence as you discover a fun new way to explore Whiskeytown Lake. This program meets at Brandy Creek Beach Lot "B".

Hop on a tandem kayak with a friend and enjoy exploring the islands and quiet coves of Whiskeytown Lake on this ranger-led tour. Don’t know how to kayak? Don’t worry as they will teach you all the basics before you head out. Meet the ranger at Oak Bottom Marina at the kayak shed near the amphitheater.

Nothing says summer fun like listening to some great music at an outdoor concert hosted by the Redding Civic Center. On July 12th, bring the blankets and lawn chairs as well as the whole family as this is an all-ages rock show. Food trucks and bars will be available for those 21+. PRIMUS is responsible for some of the most cutting edge and original rock music of the 1990’s. COHEED AND CAMBRIA have continuously broken the mold for the last 20 years of what a rock band can be, forging their own path and building a universe around their music unlike any other.

Put this one on your list of cool things to do this summer! It's midnight kayaking on Whiskeytown Lake where this ranger-led tour will take you on an unforgettable trip around the lake with the moon and stars guiding your path. On July 15th, meet the ranger at Oak Bottom Marina at the kayak shed near the amphitheater at 7:30 pm.

Get your run on in this seven week fun run series every Tuesday evenings at 7pm, starting on July 30th. It's a different location every Saturday and there is a long and a short course, usually 2-3 Miles and 4-6 miles. Points championship for those running the long courses. Registration only on race day from 6-7 pm. Rain or Shine!
